September 2005
A massive natural disaster followed by stranded poor elderly people,
children, pets. E. Coli traced in flooded waters, thousands of the dead still floating
everywhere. Trapped. Complacency at top levels of government, no heed of
warnings. No help for days on end. Southeast asia? No, try saying United States
Of America. Surprised? Why should you be? This is just another example of how
things go in the ongoing blockbuster called the Bush Administration. Will the
real president please wake up?
The Crazy Pinoys have noted the irony in having Mississippi's own David
Banner record released this month. We hope the south's music traditions carry on.
Maybe SRC / Universal will step to the plate and put a dime or two of each
record sold into relief efforts. No doubt it'll be appreciated!
Major accolades to David Perez of San Diego for chartering that jet out of
his own wallet to help eighty six people in the south. We hear agencies have
finally gotten with his program and are assisting California's newest citizens.
Welcome!
Labor Day Weekend in Seattle was warm, beautiful, busy. First, The Paul Ruben
Comedy Cruise was big fun and Prolific Events always has the surefire
parties, this time at Fox Sports Grill Seattle. Lots of major cats in 'da house and
the EA Sports giveaways were a pleasure to put out!
We're hearing about a few efforts around the Northwest for Hurricane Katrina
fundraising......Portland's Cool Nutz is organizing something over there and
on the 24th it's goin' down at Noc On Wood Record's Wood Shed Studios and pa
rty space in Seattle. The Crazy Pinoys hope to support both.
BUZZ FOR September: Phil Spector, Virgo Party @ SeaHawk Stadium, Moto Razr
Black, NBA 2006 (EA Sports), Busta Rhymes As WWF contender, Club Bed (Bangkok),
new Bobby Flay restaurant opening, Be (NY), Mixshow Power Summit Bahamas, Bun
B (Rap A Lot Records), Georgia Durt.
WANKSTER FOR September: Yes, plural. Hurricane Katrina was insane, but the
ignorance was worse. Investigations of all major governmental agencies are in
order here. So many things heard about failure to protect New Orleans, to
respond to warnings, the lack of human power, the public has the right to know
the truth.
A SHOUT OR TWO: Aaron Byers @ Prolific Events, Claire @ Fox Sports Grill, Guy
@ ARS Records, Ti @ Upscale Lounge (Seattle), Trey @ EA Sports, Curtis
Elerson, Michael Prineas, the staff @ Salish Lodge (Seattle).
