November 2005

Well kids, not much happening right now, unless you're counting the Seattle Seahawks winning streak, John Singleton's accounting fantasies and unclaimed crack pipes by NFL players as nothing happening....and oh yeah, the Monorail debacle I actually voted for three times before it's board looted millions from coffers! And wouldn't 'ya know it but the favor was returned by crashing two of the monorail trains over busy Thanksgiving weekend traffic! Happy Holidays!

Our readers already know we love the hottest hotel, resort destinations and restaurant news, but we feel a little icky about Dubai. On one hand, if it isn't yet the world's greatest playground, it will be, what with a seven star hotel and amenities only a Rothschild could yawn at. Yes, we said seven star, as if there is such a thing. On the other hand, we learn of the poorest of the poor flocking to this burg for round the clock construction work that is surely not leaving much for them to send home, after they pay back the contractors for airfare, lodging, food, etc.. Sounds like a company town to the Crazy Pinoys. Maybe the solid gold columns and $1,500.00 a night rooms aren't that sexy to us after all. But if you let publicists tell it, the wages allegedly paid to these scribes are grand by other countires standard after exchange rates........uh huh.

BUZZ FOR NOVEMBER: Xbox manufacturing subsidies, 1st year anniversary of Wonder Bar (Seattle), Porky's (NY), Shirley Horn R.I.P., green homes, Tookie Williams, not one Seattle based rap record release this month, Shadyville DJs.

WANKSTER FOR NOVEMBER: KWJZ 98.9 Smooth Jazz Radio, Seattle. When the Crazy Pinoys write you a fat check for advertising, we expect delivery of promises. No, we are not Fred Meyer or some other chain store with the size budgets you guys drool for, we are just us. But if you take the small bank, deliver the service!
