MAY 2005
Is it just us or is Michael Jackson getting set up? How do you make a connection between his finances and little boys? I don't get it. What about these witnesses who recant everything they told the Grand Jury? Have you noticed how media reports street talk but it doesn't end up in court? For example, that thing about serving wine on the plane? It really doesn't make sense. The Crazy Pinoys say Follow The Money and eyes will be opened!
You'll notice a little difference between this column and the html blast we send worldwide. That's because we treat visitors to the website with a little extra Drama, so thanks for dropping in!
It's not that I don't appreciate it, I really do. But promoters, please do not give me VIP passes to anything that's really limited. I don't need those things anyway but it's a tad off-putting when you get to the backdoor and the laminate is wrong. The bar is just fine, thank you! Besides, smoking up is for the MCs!
We're rushing at presstime to get ready for the trip to Portland for Cool Nutz' Bestest Birthday Bash. With special appearances by Boom Bap Project and E Dawg, you thought the Crazy Pinoy's were going to miss it?
Mr. Cinatra blessed us with a short visit home in Seattle. He's working on that new album, we'll keep you posted. His list of shows is taking up a second page, the midwest has truly shown love. Makes a cat want to move, sometimes!
Shhhhhh. Rumor has it that Medusa (Seattle) is closing. Where will all the 24 Hour Fitness kids go now? Maybe to any of the 20 new spots that have opened. Check out Twilight, Lark, Crush, Ibiza, Trinity, Second Lounge, Chapel, and clubbing/bowling is coming soon, stay tuned for that!
BUZZ FOR MAY: Condessa Hotel (Mexico City), Cannes, F1 racing in Monaco, Paula Abdul, J8 Records (Seattle), Club Modiva (NY), Phytomer spa products, Swiss Army, weekends in Dubai, Xbox, Dave Chapelle rumors,
real estate flipping, Bangkok 8 (book), Bee Story (Dreamworks/2007), Sonny Bonoho video, Hotel Victor (Miami), sparkling red wines, the new bottle design for Evian.
WANKSTER FOR MAY: This one is a tie between Twista and his management (Raw). We remember the hungry and humble Twista, back when he took his own calls and did Seattle shows for $500.00 and a pepsi. Today's Team Twista now blows into Seattle, grabs camera equipment from established hiphop media heads and tries to cutoff Seattle's hot opening act out of, what, jealously? Come on mane, what gives? You thought nobody was in the audience watching that? You thought an All Ages venue didn't have a full bar in back with the O.G.'s checkin' you? My my, what have we become, Mr. Twista...
PUT YOUR SHOUT INTO IT: Melissa at Qwest Field/Seahawk Stadium, Major League Ent, Arctic Flow Records (Alaska), Bosko & Cool Nutz, the staff at Club Twilight (Seattle), Rose Schwab for organizing two great dinner parties last month, Otis Williams @ HWA, Steve @ Black Fish Marine Yachts.
