MARCH 2005

What is the greatest spin you can create if you're an M.C. with a sophomore record coming out? Why, create beef with another M.C. who is squeezing out a few extra record sales too! Such may be the case with the 50 Cent/Game hyperventilation the press has breathed in and choked on hook line and sinker! This is better than Rock Hudson's dating women to protect his box office. Now we hear of the big press conference coming to show the world these rap titans are doing something "positive" for the kids by squashing this "wag The Dog" style media war! Uh huh. And Interscope has absolutely nothing to do with delivering this peace pipe, right? I am envious for not being the one to construct this promotion campaign!

In Crazy Pinoy news we are faking beef with Steve Rifkind over who gets street and retail. A stranger will be injured in front of The Ivy while we are at a lunch meeting but we will take credit for the tussle. Then, in a rare form of conciliation after Nasty Nes calls for a boycott of street promoters, Rifkind and I will have a We Are The World press conference, hoping that five new accounts will be added after all this! Well, if fiddy can do it...

Get ready for EA Sport's Fight Night Round 2. Not that you were able to master the first one, but still, Round 2 will be nice. Winding up right after this is MVP Baseball 2005. We'll see who's music gets put on this one................Well ok, I already know.

So who was that who called and told my assistant we could attend a KRS One meet and greet at a junior high school in Seattle for a mere $50.00? What do the kids pay? This is brilliant for anyone bringing artists in for market visits. Maybe we can charge everybody within 100 feet of an artist at all times! How about $100.00 to pump gas next to Jay Z's car when his driver pulls in? I need to call Chevron!

My first reaction when told the cover charge for last month's live and All Northwest hiphop show at Chop Suey was $15.00 was to laugh. But then I thought, why not? Acts like Sonny Bonoho, Cool Nutz and Byrdie are actually worth every penny. The cd they included from Deuce 8 Records was a nice touch too.

At press time the world found out these teenagers after Michael Jackson can't keep their stories straight,,,,,,,,,,duhhh! These mini Milli Vinelli's could use a little more coaching from mom if she thinks Jackson is just going to walk into prison.

BUZZ For March: Bratz Toys, TLC, Chez Million (Seattle), Skid Road (Seattle), Martha Stewart, John Legend, Godfather video game, Costa Rica, Khaki suits, Smart Cars.

Wankster For March: Department Of Land Use / City Of Seattle. Why is it that the rest of the world recognizes Jimi Hendrix but you cannot? Yeah I am the first to know how much real estate has gone up since moving his house onto a potential site in the Central District but you know what? It's Jimi Hendrix we are talking about! Get over it and give up some space for this legend already. You never cared about the CD until 4 years ago anyway. Now you want to act like the neighborhood is too valuable for him?

Some Shouting: The Specifics (Canada), Eduardo Renta, Mobile Storm, NetFlix, Jeru Da Damaja.
