June 2004

Are you a fan of "reality" television? I certainly am not. Other than a few stylish furnishings, the occasional candles and interior flourishes for the trend setters I just can't deal with it. The preview recently seen for some type of star search for an action hero is just out of control. You won't find the next 007 there, sorry! As an action hero myself, I would never submit myself to jumping off buildings, that's what my double is for anyway!

The Crazy Pinoys put on our capes this month in search of the Last Action Promotion. This includes heroic efforts on behalf of the RapALot Records annual multi record blowout, this time for Yukmouth and Devin The Dude, at least so far! Don't worry, they have four more right behind these....We also leap tall buildings by turning your attention to the hottest new event space in Seattle, delivered to you by the team at Noc On Wood Records. Doing a birthday party? A Record release? Live show with recording capability? Video production? You know where it needs to be held now. Call Elliott Sun for your tour of this one of a kind facility at 206 262 0400, but hurry, dates are booking very quickly! And of course, the recording studio has to be walked through as well.

To all the independent artists and labels sending in media kits and packages for reviews and profiles, thank you. We review every one of them. Just give us time to do it! We know how hard it is to promote and are here to help at any level, but we get tons of these things and we read and listen very carefully to all material. Keep checking in, you never know which label or or media outlet we forward your stuff to!

For artists and MC's just starting out, Crazy Pinoy's website choice of the month is www.MusicGorilla.com. For a great price break use our discount code which is Crazy Pinoy. These people are a great an inexpensive way to get out there with your material.

Summertime In Seattle means alot of things, but the biggest is the ARS Records annual party. The date has been announced, August 14th!! Labels and MC's, get at the Davis brothers for more info on this year's stage and activities.

Do you remember Crunk Magazine out of central Washington? So do we. Manuel Munoz is back and this time his new publication is called Street Hustle. Contact him for media, advertsing, event news, photos, etc. Number is 509 594 9032.

I've got it confused! This week's college radio charts have Oktober (FreshChest Records) and Holla Point (Columbia) posted. Could this be the same as Seattle's Oktober and Hollow Point? We have to get a move on in the Northwest before the rest of the Industry starts taking MC's names away! Same goes for the two Sinatras, Mr. Cinatra and Sin Atra out of NY!

Buzz For June: Ronald Reagan, Mr. Cinatra's move to Midwest markets, Record releases by Gangsta Nutt and Cool Nutz, Bootsy Collins, StreetHustleMagazine.com, Bandol Closure (Seattle), Thursday nights at MiraBeau Room (Seattle), T. Wood Jr. Birthday week, the new Chrysler 300, Jay Z, and The Manchurian Candidate (film).

Wanskster For June: The state of Colorado for letting the Lisl Auman imprisionment go as long as it has (six years). This young woman was in the backseat of police car while a shootout was taking place between others and she ends up convicted for murder just by knowing the shooter! Check out www.lisl.com.

The ShoutOuts: Congrats to Sonny Bonoho, No Good and Unexpected Arrival for opening show with upcoming Too Short event in Seattle, Mat @ Space 380 marketing, Mark Murphy at Universal Media, Noni @ CoolOut Network, the little pomeranian dogs running around Noc On Wood Studios and HWA Inc., Tim Griffin, and the staff at Princess Sapphire (www.Princess.com)
