FEBRUARY 2004
Does it make sense to you how there are 150 magazines out there showing women in scant clothing yet Janet Jackson is vilified for her choreography during that show at Super Bowl? And are you as sick as I am about that wimpy Justin Timberlake not coming right out and saying he wouldn't attend the Grammys either, as a show of loyalty to a fellow artist, friend, etc? The hyprocrasy here is beyond belief. While it is no small thing to take a chance and lose all the toys and music Industry favor because of taking A STAND for something, isn't the CORRECT thing more important? Yes, I have seen all of Timberlake's junk on MTV Cribs and I have to tell you, siding with someone you love and believe in is LIGHT YEARS more important than the big house, the media game and the Billboard charts combined. Justin, you are selling your soul in exchange for something that is not real. And CBS, kiss my ass, you can't have it both ways, urban entertainment without DRAMA? What is that? You should have called Pat Boone or Helen Reddy instead.
Ahh, that was fun. Now then, in Crazy Pinoy news we have your street update, which is probably all I will ever be about now that my politics are showing! NFL Street (EA.COM) has smashed sales records and you have to check your friends copies out, Young Have Not (CapitolVenture.Net) has been steadily gaining on us and Noc On Wood Records represents in L.A. this weekend for all the NBA AllStar action. Our intern, Britney, is going for the gold and setting up a Meet The NorthWest MC's event in Seattle, and we will be assisting with her efforts. And even if our guy is Wesley Clark, we will let you know if Vice President has a nice ring to John Kerry's Prez nomination! Finally, look out for our drama for Indie Sessions Volume 1 (OceanRecords.com) and Mr. Supreme's mix cd called Take A good Look.
Talk about Big. Seattle has never seen anything like what is coming to downtown. Noc On Wood Records and Sea Real Records both will be doing huge tastemakers and celeb launch parties for their studios. I have visited these locations extensively and all I can say is, whoa. With Noc On Wood, it is going to be all about sound, video, rehearsal, offices and social space for networking. At Sea Real, it will focus on intimate recording with artist friendly Zen quiet space. Two new Seattle titans in the Industry game and it's not something for amateurs, do the math. Industry heads, look for your invitations soon.
